Early, Cassidy & Schilling, LLC (EC&S) is a regional company with a global reach. At the heart of our ability to succeed, our knowledgeable professionals work to identify and assess our customers’ areas of risk and find strategic, cost-effective risk management solutions to address them. Using our network alliance with Assurex Global, we offer risk management solutions throughout the US and most countries worldwide – and the superior service to support these solutions.
The roots of our organization stem back to 1927 with the formation of Ellett & Short and the Henry C. Young agencies. In 1968, these agencies joined together under the ownership of Gerald K. Cassidy and Walter Schilling to form the agency of Early, Cassidy & Schilling, Inc. (EC&S). In 1989, Andy Cassidy and Tim Schilling purchased the business from Gerry and Walter. Our commitment to remaining independent is a core value and in the fourth quarter of 2016, critical steps to assure growth, independence and continuity were taken. Andy and Tim brought in Jason Richardson as our new Managing Partner and CEO. The company was reestablished as Early, Cassidy & Schilling, LLC and incorporated in DE. Over the next decade ownership will transfer to Jason and others as the footprint of our organization enlarges and the company continues to be the broker of choice.

Our Secret to Success: We Listen
When a client approached EC&S in the 1970’s for help with its employee benefits offering, the firm responded by creating a dedicated Employee Benefits Department. Today, that department has grown into one of the premiere benefits resources in the Washington Metropolitan Area, providing advice to clients on individual financial planning, estate and continuity matters, corporate employee benefit programs and individualized life, disability and long-term care needs.
In the late 1980’s, we expanded our services to include risk control, claim and safety resources. We also assembled teams that paired specialists in insurance loss control and claims with field-savvy safety professionals. Soon, we were offering practical safety and claim advocacy tailored to meet the challenges that face businesses.
Today, under the leadership of Jason Richardson, Matarie Broom, Tim Schilling and Lynne Cook, one of the core elements of the EC&S philosophy is to give back to the region through community service and participation in numerous local and national civic and business organizations. As EC&S continues to grow, we adhere to our core values of integrity, professionalism, community innovation and independence in order to safeguard our customers and help them plan for the future.
