Annually, the first Monday in September marks the Labor Day holiday. This is the time we celebrate the economic achievements of the American Workforce. The US Department of Labor has an excellent article on the history of Labor Day. I encourage everyone to read the article, learn the history, and see why Labor Day is a national holiday.

It is great to know a bit about America’s past, but we should also concern ourselves with the present. That means Sales and Festivals!!! Just about every retail store you can think of is having a Labor Day Sale. This is a great weekend to get a new winter wardrobe, or replace some aging appliances.
If you prefer concerts and festivals to shopping, there are tons of awesome events going on throughout the Washington Metro area. Here is a list of some of the greatest Labor Day events for 2014. I will personally be at the Epicurience Wine & Food Festival.
All of us here at Early, Cassidy & Schilling, Inc. wish you a safe and enjoyable holiday!
