Early, Cassidy & Schilling, Inc. (EC&S) strives to be a business that not only serves the community, but takes great care to support it. We feel our ability to donate and volunteer service reflects our value of the importance of giving back to the communities in which we work and to the world that we live in. Below is a list of what we have been involved with so far throughout the year:
1.Community Ministries of Rockville
EC&S has teamed up with Community Ministries of Rockville (CMR) to assist with a number of projects providing both financial support and manpower to those in need. CMR was established in 1967 with the goal of improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable Montgomery County residents. Some of the services which they provide include: a health clinic for adults, a language outreach program, and a housing program which provides shelter for homeless men and women. They also provide assistance to the elderly and a holiday giving program.
This past Christmas the EC&S team purchased gifts for children in the Rockville area that otherwise would have received nothing. We plan to make this an annual project and moving forward, we will assist with the wrapping process as well.
We are currently working with CMR on their men’s shelter to do repairs and painting as well as some redecorating of the living room.
Next month EC&S will be attending the CMR Gala on May 16th at Lakewood Country Club. This is an important fundraiser, and we hope other businesses will join us in support of CMR. To purchase tickets to this wonderful event just go to the Community Ministries of Rockville website.
On Memorial weekend EC&S will be providing volunteers to support another CMR event: “The Taste of Rockville”.
2. Red Cross Blood Drives
EC&S employees, family members, and business partners participate in a voluntary blood drive two times a year in support of The American Red Cross. To join us in support this vital organization, watch for more information on our website; our next drive will be in the fall.
3. Hurricane Sandy Support
Employees of EC&S collected clothing, blankets, food and other supplies to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. So that they could get the resources they needed as soon as possible, EC&S rented a truck then personally delivered these items to Staten Island, Coney Island and the Rockaways, and volunteered a few days with Occupy Sandy to further assist families with the cleanup and support needed as a result of Superstorm Sandy.
4. Haiti St. Rock Foundation
Following the earthquake in Haiti, EC&S collected medical supplies and vitamins for the relief effort and traveled with a medical team to the St. Rock Clinic in Haiti where we provided assistance to those in need. EC&S continues to support the St. Rock Clinic, which helps over 10,000 patients a year, as well as the foundation in all of their projects.
