Next week is the 4th Annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. Statistics show that falls are the leading cause of death for workers in the construction industry, accounting for 350 of the 937 fatalities according to the most recent BLS data of 2015. Of those 350, 16.9% of fatal falls were from 10 feet or less.
Below are links to a few of the supporting agencies for the event. There are a number of resources (flyers, videos, etc.) that are available through these organizations.
If you are able to participate in a local event (some listed below), please join in. If not, take moment each morning next week and talk about the prevention of falls. We have included a number of tool box talks from one of our carrier partners, Hartford, to aid in this effort.
