COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, October 3, 2012 – Andrew G. Cassidy, EVP, Early, Cassidy & Schilling, Inc., is the 2013 chairman of The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers, as announced by The Council today.
Cassidy was elected chairman during The Council’s 99th annual Insurance Leadership Forum, the premier networking event for the commercial property/casualty insurance industry. Cassidy succeeds Dave E. McGurn, corporate vice president, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
Cassidy began his career with Early, Cassidy and Schilling, Inc., in 1980, specializing in corporate operations and carrier relations. As a third generation owner, he and Tim Schilling acquired the company in 1988 from Gerry Cassidy and Walt Schilling. A graduate of Regis College in Denver, Colo., Cassidy serves on numerous carrier Advisory Councils, the Corporate Advisory Board of S.O.M.E, and previously served on the D.C. Insurance Commissioner’s Agents Advisory Board.
As chairman of The Council, Cassidy leads a team of officers including Vice Chairman Johnny Pitts, chief manager, Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, LLC, Memphis, Tenn.; Treasurer Steve L. Brockmeyer, president and chief executive officer, Bolton & Company, Pasadena, Calif.; and Secretary Bill Henry, chief executive officer/chairman, McQueary Henry Bowles Troy, L.L.P., Dallas, Texas.
